From Photo to Figurine: How Your Custom Piece Is Made

A custom figurine is one of a kind, so it helps to know what happens after you upload a photo. Here is the whole journey, from the first preview to the box at your door.

1. Choose what you are making

Start with a mini-me figurine of a person, a pet figurine or a TTRPG miniature of your character. Our templates add more looks, from chibi and anime styles to costumes, couples and keychains. For an overview of what you can make and what it costs, see our guide to custom 3D figurines from a photo.

2. Upload a photo and pick a style or pose

Add one clear photo, or for a miniature, character art or a short description. Then choose a style or a pose, and use the note box for anything you want us to keep, such as a hairstyle, a white patch on a paw or a favourite colour. Our photo guide explains what makes a photo work well.

3. Check your free 3D preview

The creator turns your photo into a design preview you can turn around and look at from every side. It is free, and nothing is charged until you add your piece to the cart. The preview is AI-generated and approximate: it shows the style, pose and overall look we will work from. If it isn't right, try another photo before you order.

4. Choose your size and finish, then order

Pick a size (measured on the longest side; our size guide helps), plus a base and finish where the product offers them, and check out. The preview you approved becomes the basis for your figurine.

5. An artist refines the 3D model

Every order includes artist refinement: before anything is printed, one of our artists refines the digital 3D model based on your preview so it is ready to print. It is included in the price, and it is separate from hand painting.

6. Printed for your chosen finish

Full-colour figurines are 3D printed with colour in the print itself. Artist Hand-Finished pieces are printed in white resin before painting. TTRPG miniatures are full-colour prints on their round base.

7. Hand painting for selected sizes

Artist Hand-Finished pieces are printed in white resin and painted by our artists. This finish is available for Mini Me figurines in 15, 18, 20, 25 and 30 cm, and for custom pet figurines in 8, 10, 15, 18, 20, 25 and 30 cm. Each size shows its own price on the product page. It doesn't mean the figurine is sculpted entirely by hand. Mini Me figurines in 6, 8 and 10 cm, our pop-style figurine and TTRPG miniatures are full-colour prints; at 15 cm, Mini Me and pet figurines come in either finish.

8. Inspected, packed and shipped

Every piece is inspected by hand before it is packed to protect it on the way. MYTHUMI is a Canadian company. Orders are produced in China and ship from there directly to you in Canada, the United States or the European Union. When your order leaves us, you will get a shipping confirmation email, with tracking whenever the shipping service includes it.

How long does it take?

Production time counts from the day you place your order. Every piece, personalised or ready-made, takes about 7 to 10 business days to make. Standard shipping then takes about 5 to 12 business days to the United States and 10 to 25 business days to Canada or the European Union; Express takes 3 to 7 business days. If you need your piece by a certain date, such as a birthday, contact us before you order and we will give you our best estimate. Transit time comes on top: orders travel internationally from China, so it depends on the shipping service, customs and where you are. Our shipping policy has the details.

When it arrives

Open the box carefully, without pushing a blade deep into it, and check your figurine and its base. Thin parts such as fingers, ears, tails and accessories are delicate. Our figurines are display pieces, not toys, so please keep them away from young children. If anything arrives damaged or isn't what you ordered, email us within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photos of the figurine and the packaging, and you can choose a free remake or a refund.

If you change your mind

Every piece is made to order, including our ready-made designs, so you can cancel for a full refund until work on your order starts; after that, orders can't be returned for a change of mind. Contact us as early as you can, and see our refund policy for the full details.
